2007: As the lead SOA and Security IT Architect for Utility and Grid Computing for the technology division of Wachovia Corporate and Investment Banking, Ryan led a team of over 50 developers and architects. He drove the SOA architecture strategy and framework development design for mass-customized and rapidly consumable, secure, and best of breed virtualized server runtime solutions that integrate high performance computing grids with thin and thick clients, and rich internet application (RIA) environments via the CIB Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). Ryan has designed and implemented solutions for each CIB business line, including Global Capital Markets (Equities, FX, Structured Products, Credit Lending, Vertical Mortgage Integration), CIB International (LoCs, DDA, IFTs/SWIFT), Credit Risk and Treasury Services. Technology Implementations: DataPower XI50, Verari w/ Intel Woodcrest, Tangosol Coherence, DataSynapse GridServer, JBOSS 4.0.5, RHEL, VMWare ESX #, Scalent, with custom built internal services and components.

A notable project that combined DataSynapse with DataPower and Coherence technology was the Credit Risk Potential Future Exposures grid, which was completed 6 months ahead of schedule with $1.5M in savings as a result of an optimized architecture that reduced the processingtime of the job from 17 hours to 20 minutes across a rack of 60 dense computing blades. Ryan's work to redesign the DMZ architecture has resulted in fewer network hops and physical devices in the DMZ, and leverages F5 8800 load balancers and content filters in front of DataPower XI50 appliances for web services XML firewalls as well as for web application reverse proxy authentication, authorization, and audit logging. Ryan also designed an ESB architecture that uses DataPower to perform XSLT based XML transformations and web services to FTP, MQ and Tibco EMS integration.

Other Technology Implementations: DataPower XI50, HP C-Class and Verari w/ Intel Woodcrest and Clovertown processors with FB-DIMMS, Oracle Tangosol Coherence, DataSynapse GridServer, JBOSS 4.0.5 J2EE microkernel, Adobe Flex and LCDS, Windows 2K3, RHEL4, SLES 9, Azul appliances, Tideway appliances w/ Oracle 10G CMDB integration, Composite, Securent, Scalent, VMWare ESX, F5, SQL, Python, Ruby, Spring, JAX-WS, ReqPro, Telelogic Doors, LignUp,.Net 3.0, JBoss Arjuna Transactions, Oracle OIM, OID, OVD, Optier, Symantec I3, RSA FIM, and many more core technology components.
